UV Laser Marking Machines
UV laser marking machines put a cold, high-contrast mark on plastics, PCBs, glass, ceramics and other heat-sensitive parts at 355 nm. We supply 3W to 10W systems in five formats: desktop, portable, fly (inline), enclosed cabinet, and enclosed marking chamber.
Who this family is for
Use UV when fiber would melt, yellow, crack or smear the part — typical of many plastics, painted electronics, glass and medical components. It is the usual marker for PCB identification.
It is the wrong first choice for deep metal IDs, for wood and acrylic cutting, and for gold hallmarking. See fiber , dot peen , CO2 and gold fiber .
How it works
A 355 nm UV source feeds a galvo head. The short wavelength is absorbed in a thin surface layer, so heat into the bulk is low (“cold marking”). Software is typically EZCAD. Cooling is air or water, depending on power.
Formats
-
Desktop (standard)
Station / cleanroom cell
Fixtured parts at a bench. Electronics, medical and plastics cells.
View format -
Portable
Move between benches or light field use
Same 355 nm process in a compact body. Roll between cells; not a fly head.
View format -
Fly
Moving line; plastics and packaging
Photocell or encoder. Mark PET, film, cables and plastic parts without stopping the conveyor.
View format -
Enclosed UV Laser Marking Machine
Complete workstation enclosed inside a cabinet/housing
The UV marking setup sits inside an enclosed machine structure. Not an open desktop, and not a chamber-only enclosure with an external controller.
View format -
UV Laser Marking Machine with Enclosed Marking Chamber
Dedicated chamber around the marking zone; controller remains external
The marking head and work area sit inside an interlocked marking chamber. The controller and chiller stay outside the chamber.

Enclosed UV formats
| Attribute | Enclosed UV Laser Marking Machine | UV Laser with Enclosed Marking Chamber |
|---|---|---|
| Primary enclosure | Complete machine/workstation | Marking zone only |
| Main structure | Enclosed cabinet/housing | Dedicated chamber around marking area |
| Workstation enclosed | Yes | No |
| Marking area enclosed | Yes | Yes |
| External controller | May be integrated or accessible on the cabinet | External |
| Physical format | Full enclosed machine | Chamber-based marking workstation |
Desktop and both enclosed UV formats can be configured with options such as fume extraction and, where the cell needs it, integrated AC. Those options are not separate machines.

FAQs
- Why UV instead of fiber on plastic?
- Fiber heat can melt or haze many plastics. UV marks with less bulk heating. We confirm on a sample.
- Will it deep-engrave steel?
- That is not what UV is for. Use fiber or dot peen.
- 3W vs 10W?
- Contrast, speed and darker plastics push power up. Set after a trial.
- PCB as H1?
- The machine family is UV. The job is on the PCB marking application page.
